Splish Splash!

Cash got his first pool! We went to Academy and found him a little plastic pool for the backyard. So this morning after we had our Father's Day breakfast we put Cash in a little swimmer diaper and headed outside.
He loves being in the bathtub and he loves to be outside so we knew he would love the pool...it's the best of both worlds!

Then he got on his belly. He didn't put his face down at all! He kept kicking his legs and scooting around the pool.
Cheese!!
Playing with his rubber ducky
We will have a lot of fun in the new pool this summer!

Visitors visitors!

Over the last month we have had a ton of visitors! We don't get to see our family and friends very often because we live so far away from everyone, so when we do have people come see us we really enjoy it!
Unfortunately I didn't do a very good job of taking pictures while everyone was here.

Jeremy went on band trip to LA (very sad I didn't get to go) so I had my mom come down for a couple of days to hang out and help with Cash. We had a lot of fun! We went out to eat a couple of times and really just hung out around the house. We went and walked around the mall too.

The next weekend my grandparents came to see us. They got here on Thursday and left Sunday morning. Friday night they watched Cash so that we could go to Jeremy's band banquet. We stayed home the rest of the time and hung out.

Jeremy's sister graduated from high school the first Tuesday in June. His brother flew in from Maryland and drove down here to visit before they both headed to Rockwall for graduation. It was nice to see Jon since we only get to see him once or twice a year.
Daddy and Cash in the cool convertible Camaro Jon rented!

Last night our good friends the Sivinski's stopped by on their way to a wedding. I love these people. We have been friends for 10 years now. We were both in their wedding and they were both in our wedding. The 4 of us get along so well, and we are so happy that we have been able to stay friends all this time. They have a little boy, Wyatt, who will be 3 in September and Luanne is pregnant with baby #2 who will be here in August! Can't wait to meet the new Sivinski and find out the gender!!

9 Months Old

Cash is now 9 months old! Wow, I just cannot believe it. He has now been out in the world for as long as it took him to bake in my belly! He has grown so much in the last month and has really started to become more independent. He isn't crawling yet, but he rolls everywhere he needs to go. He gets on all fours and rocks so I think we are really close. He would rather stand up than be on the floor anyway, so walking may be in our immediate future too.
This month Jeremy went on band trip to LA. That was a LONG six days for me and Cash. It was the first time either of us has left him overnight. I still haven't left him yet.
One of the pics I sent Jeremy while he was gone. Smile for daddy!

May is also the end of the school year for Jeremy and Cash. For Cash's last day I made homemade chocolate chip cookies and put them in these cute little bags with a note saying how much we appreciate his teachers. These ladies made the transition of me going back to work easier (as easy as it could be) and we are SO blessed to have found this place.

Cash loves his puppies! He pulls their hair and their ears, but they just lay there.  Zeus allows Cash to play with him. Zora stays away from him for the most part, but Cash and Zeus are best friends.

This is one of his new sleeping positions. I went to check on him during his nap one day and this is how I found him:

At 9 months old:
Weight: 18.4 lbs
Height: 27.5 inches
Size 2 diapers but size 3 at night
9 month clothes
Tried blueberries and apricots this month. We have started to give him more foods for him to try and grab to feed himself. He has been picking the food up but has no interest in putting it in his mouth. Then last night out of nowhere he did it!! We gave him some cantaloupe and pineapple and he started putting it in his mouth and sucking on it. Yay!
He pulled up on the furniture for the first time the other day. He doesn't move once he's up he just stands there. But he's very excited about standing up and will squeal when he does it.
He also has been fussy for the last couple of days and we figured out the culprit...he's cutting his first tooth!! So we gave him some teething tablets and he seems to be much better today.
We finally got Cash a highchair. He's been eating in his bumbo seat but his chubby little legs really don't fit in it anymore. When Jeremy's brother Jon was in town he saw that we didn't have a highchair so he sent us one once he left!! What a nice thoughtful thing to do! Thanks Uncle Jon!

My First Mothers Day

My boys made my first Mother's Day so very special. They woke up Sunday morning and made me a yummy breakfast! They made french toast (my favorite), eggs, and bacon. Jeremy went to Hubbell and Hudson market in the Woodlands and picked up some brioche bread, fancy maple syrup, and bacon from the meat counter. Fancy fancy!

Please excuse my very puffy eyes. I woke up Sunday morning and realized that my baby boy had given me an extra special Mother's Day gift...pink eye...in both eyes. Sigh. He got it from someone at his school. That's a whole different story. But I ended up with it too. YUCK!
Anyway, back to wonderful Mother's Day. :)
We ate breakfast and then I opened my gifts. I got a beautiful blue orchid, a "mommy & me" picture frame, a card that they had made through an app on the iPad (there's an app for that). Jeremy got some canvases from Michaels and painted them, then he put his hand print on one, each of Cash's handprints on the other 2, and then left the 4th one blank for me to put my handprint on. He is SO thoughtful. What a wonderful gift. Here is the finished product hanging in our kitchen.
I also got new plates! I have been wanting white plates for a long time, so Jeremy went and found the ones I wanted.
We went to the Arboretum that is right by our house. We had never been but it was beautiful!
Taking a little cat nap before we head out:

For dinner we went to Grimaldi's pizza. So much good food in one day!

Cash practicing his driving skills:
And then to finish off the day...chocolate covered strawberries. Yum!

I am so very thankful for my husband who put all of this together and really made me feel so special. Becoming a mom has been by far the best thing in my life. Cash is such a blessing to us and I am grateful that I am his mom.

8 Months!

This month we went to the beach for the first time and celebrated Mother's Day. We didn't do a whole lot this month either, lol. I have decided we are boring people. But the next few months will be pretty busy so I guess that will make up for it :)
Cash continues to enjoy sitting in the highchair at restaurants. He was trying to decide what he wanted when we were at PF Changs.

Cash's school had an art show with all the stuff the kids made. Cash's class made several things! It was so fun going around looking at all the art work and then seeing one that had his name on it! My little artist with one of his pieces :)

 Just hanging out one morning.

We went up to Jeremy's school for spaghetti supper. They have it every year and the bands play while all the parents eat spaghetti and there is a silent auction also. Always a fun time and of course this year Cash was Mr. Popular with the kids.

All three of my boys laying on the floor watching tv. Love these moments!

At 8 months:
Weight: 18 lbs
Height: 27 inches still
Size 2 diapers
Size 6-9 month clothes
Trying more foods. We tried broccoli, mango, banana and oatmeal cereal this month.
He loves to drink water out of our cups. He opens his mouth really big and then kind of chews/sucks the water. It's so cute.
He has several hot wheels cars that he just loves to play with. He likes to spin the wheels more than anything.
All of his toys he would rather flip them over and see how they work.

7 months old

This month flew by and it wasn't even like we were busy. I was scrolling through Facebook to see what all we did (because you know that is where I keep all things important haha). We went to Dallas for Easter but I did a separate post on that. Jeremy's jazz band went to contest in Blynn and got a 1 (the best rating), placed 3rd overall and his trombone player received outstanding soloist! Very proud of the Aldine Mustang Jazz Band and their awesome director!

At 7 months:
Height: 27 inches (this is a guess since we didn't measure)
Weight: 17 lbs
Size 2 Diapers
Size 6 month clothes
Started trying a sippy cup with water
We are exploring all sorts of new foods! This month we tried apples, squash, carrots, peas (he did NOT like peas), pears and zucchini.

Super cute boy outside at Chipotle. We started putting him in highchairs since he is getting so big.
We did a mini photo session in the backyard in his Easter outfit. We got some really cute pictures!

Happy 7 month birthday baby boy! We love you!
